This Little Bird is a real beauty inside and out. The original color of (H code) Torch Red was sprayed on this car during the restoration and paired with the original XB code Red and White interior.
The original 292 CID V8 was rebuilt and features a rebuilt Holley 4-barrel carburetor! That V8 powerplant is backed by a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission! The electrical system has been upgraded to 12 volts. Finned valve covers and a chrome air cleaner dress up the engine nicely, in a fully restored and show ready engine compartment!
Wide white wall tires on Red steel wheels with correct hubcaps and fender skirts are exactly what you hope to see on a 55 Thunderbird. Those white walls pair nicely with a white soft top that stores easily behind the seat. Even the underside of this T-Bird is ready to show with a black frame, and red floors. It is as clean as they come! The Little Bird Thunderbirds were only build from 1955 to 1957 and were meant to be direct competition with the Chevrolet Corvette. The Thunderbird proved more suited to the American market than the Corvette, with sales of 16,155, versus 674 Corvettes in 1955. This car has been in the same family for the last 45 years, but it is time for a new home.
